Opens automatically via the receipt printer whenever cash is taken. It connects to the printer, not the computer — without a receipt printer it stays shut.

If the power drops mid-service, the register keeps running and you close open bills properly instead of losing them. Ten minutes is enough for that.

The unglamorous reason on-site setups fail: a missing cable or no free port. A switch and two network cables, so the kitchen printer actually runs on setup day.
